Originally called “Chicken Feed” candy corn came into the world in the 1880s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was invented by George Renninger and manufactured by the Wunderle Candy Company; however, it was not until the turn of the century that it went into mass production by the Goelitx Candy company.
