Summerween Is Here, and the Halloween Candy Is Already Arriving!

It’s the middle of summer. The sun is shining, vacation bags are packed, and most of us are still thinking about beaches, backyard cookouts, swimming pools, and how many more warm weekends we can squeeze in before fall arrives.

So naturally, it’s time to talk about Halloween candy!

Yes, we know. Pumpkins, ghosts, trick-or-treat bags, and cool October nights probably aren’t the first things on your mind right now. But here at Blair Candy, the Halloween season is already beginning, and boxes of this year’s spooky sweets are starting to arrive at our warehouse.

Welcome to Summerween!

What the Heck is Summerween?

Summerween is what happens when Halloween fans decide that waiting until October is simply too long.

The idea combines the fun, spooky side of Halloween with everything we love about summer. Think jack-o’-lanterns wearing sunglasses, skeletons relaxing beside the pool, horror movie marathons with the air conditioning cranked up, and Halloween candy being enjoyed long before the leaves begin to change.

The term was popularized by an episode of the animated television series Gravity Falls, which featured a summer version of Halloween. Since then, Summerween has grown into a real seasonal trend, particularly on social media, where Halloween fans share spooky summer decorations, themed parties, recipes, candy finds, and countdowns to October 31.

What began as a fun idea for serious Halloween enthusiasts is quickly becoming something much bigger.

Halloween Isn’t Just One Day Anymore

For many candy lovers, Halloween is no longer limited to the final night of October.

Mars recently reported that 57% of U.S. adults now view Halloween as more than a single-day celebration. Instead, they see it as a season that can stretch across several months.

Candy companies and retailers like us are introducing Halloween products earlier because shoppers are actively looking for them during the summer. Some people are planning parties, some are decorating early, and others simply want to be the first to try the newest seasonal candy.

We completely understand that last group.

After all, why wait until October to enjoy a pumpkin-shaped chocolate, a spooky candy mix, or a bag filled with Halloween colors?

Why We’re Excited About Summerween

At Blair Candy, Halloween has always been one of our favorite times of the year.

Our warehouse begins filling up with new treats, giant variety packs, nostalgic candy, creepy creatures, chocolate pumpkins, sour candy, lollipops, and all the other goodies that make Halloween so much fun.

There’s something exciting about opening those first cases of Halloween candy, even when it’s still hot enough outside to melt a chocolate bar on the sidewalk.

It gives us the first look at what candy companies have planned for the season. We get to see which old favorites are returning, which packages received a spooky makeover, and which completely new treats will be competing for space in trick-or-treat bowls this year.

Yes, Halloween Candy Is Already Arriving

While you may still be shopping for sunscreen and planning your next trip to the beach, we’re already making room for this year’s Halloween candy shipments.

They don’t all arrive at once. Halloween candy rolls in throughout the summer and early fall as manufacturers finish production and begin shipping their seasonal assortments.

Each delivery brings something different. One day it may be a truckload of chocolate variety packs. The next, it could be gummy eyeballs, candy corn, caramel apple treats, spooky lollipops, or enough individually wrapped candy to supply an entire neighborhood.

Seeing those first Halloween boxes arrive always feels like a preview of what’s ahead. Summer may still be in full swing, but the candy calendar is already creeping toward October.

Summerween Is the Perfect Excuse for a Party

You don’t have to redecorate your entire house or put a giant skeleton beside the swimming pool to celebrate Summerween.

Although we certainly wouldn’t judge you if you did.

A Summerween celebration can be as simple as putting together a bowl of Halloween candy, watching a favorite spooky movie, or inviting a few friends over for a Halloween-themed cookout.

You could also try:

  • Serving orange and purple candy at a pool party
  • Making Summerween treat bags for friends or coworkers
  • Hosting a scary movie night
  • Creating a Halloween candy tasting table
  • Decorating cupcakes with gummy worms and candy eyeballs
  • Mixing Halloween candy into ice cream sundaes
  • Giving ordinary summer drinks spooky names
  • Starting your trick-or-treat candy stash early

The best part is that there aren’t many rules. Summerween is supposed to be a fun, slightly strange collision between two completely different seasons.

Here at Blair Candy, this year’s Halloween candy is already beginning to arrive, and we’ll continue adding more seasonal favorites as we get closer to October.

So keep enjoying the beaches, barbecues, and summer vacations.

We’ll be over here unpacking ghosts, pumpkins, chocolate bars, gummy monsters, and enough candy to make every day feel a little more like Halloween.
